Castro Regime Reported Only 13% of COVID-19 Deaths

The Economist excess mortality tracker shows that deaths from coronavirus in Cuba could have been 7.3 times more than those officially reported, which would mean that the number of deaths on the island would not have been 8,529 but about 62,000. , which means that the regime only reported around 13% of the cases of people who died from COVID-19.

A report published by the English weekly based on infographics from the data journalism project Our World in Data, from the University of Oxford, reveals that Cuba registered 550 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants last year due to the disease.

“Officially, by August 2022, the Covid has killed 8,529 of the 11 million inhabitants of Cuba. But our model estimates that the actual number could be much higher. Excess mortality, the gap between how many people have died in a given period, regardless of cause, and how many deaths would normally have been expected, suggests that as many as 62,000 Cubans may have died as a result of the pandemic.

With this revised number of deaths, Cuba is among the 20 countries in the world with the highest mortality rate from COVID-19, having exceeded the average for the Americas of 368 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, even above the United States. which with more than 350 million inhabitants was the nation hardest hit by the pandemic, but registered a rate of 354 deaths per 100,000 people.

With evidence
The disparity in the figures of Castroism and manipulation was revealed by Ricardo Manet Lahera, director of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology of Santiago de Cuba, in August of last year to Prisoners Defenders.

In an interview with the organization, he said that “a person with a positive PCR enters a health institution and in that health institution receives treatment and then an evolutionary PCR is performed, and if the result is negative, the person is negative, but if he has complications related to his underlying pathologies – hypertension, diabetes or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases – and dies from complications associated with these and not precisely because of the existence or the damage caused by COVID, they are negative cases ”.

Magnifying glass to the situation

Based on this testimony, Prisoners Defenders delved into the regime’s methodology. According to Javier Larrondo, director of this organization “all the COVID data from Cuba was analyzed and we showed that they were lying when the new seven-day cases were greater than the total active cases as if the cure occurred in less than five days, something impossible”.

Larrondo explained that in a comparative study with Spain and Costa Rica, the number of total active cases was between eight and nine times more than the number of seven-day cases, but in Cuba it was only 0.73.

With that number “there were fewer total active cases than the new cases of the last seven days. Now The Economist says so, based on another set of data also provided by the Cuban State, so they are complementary because we did it with the data provided at that time between active infected and seven days infected, which already demonstrated nonsense. We are two sources, with two sets of data that show that they have been lying to the world and its population to sell a vaccine without any apparent results – as seen – and that the WHO has not even approved.
