Professor Santiago Morgado was found dead this Monday in a well in Sancti Spíritus, the province where he lived. Morgado had been missing since last Friday. He had last been seen on his motorcycle at the Guasimal junction, on the way to Banao.
The user Néstor Estévez of the Facebook group “Movimiento SiudadanoS”, who had kept reporting on the disappearance, specified that he was found “tightly tied to a metal in a state of decomposition”.
The victim’s family believes that he was killed to steal his motorcycle.
“Now it remains to demand an investigation to immediately find those responsible and make them pay for their crimes. Within the legal framework but with the full weight of the law. Sancti Spíritus has to recover the outraged calm”, said Néstor Estévez.
So far, the Cuban authorities have not offered statements in this regard.
