Cuban professor was killed to steal his motorcycle.

Professor Santiago Morgado was found dead this Monday in a well in Sancti Spíritus, the province where he lived. Morgado had been missing since last Friday. He had last been seen on his motorcycle at the Guasimal junction, on the way to Banao.

The user Néstor Estévez of the Facebook group “Movimiento SiudadanoS”, who had kept reporting on the disappearance, specified that he was found “tightly tied to a metal in a state of decomposition”.

The victim’s family believes that he was killed to steal his motorcycle.

“Now it remains to demand an investigation to immediately find those responsible and make them pay for their crimes. Within the legal framework but with the full weight of the law. Sancti Spíritus has to recover the outraged calm”, said Néstor Estévez.

So far, the Cuban authorities have not offered statements in this regard.

In recent years, independent media have reported numerous disappearances in Cuba.

On June 26, after 14 days missing, the 22-year-old Claudia Montes, who lived in the province of Matanzas, was found dead.

In mid-January 2021, it was learned that the authorities had found the body of Yosvany Villar Ávila, a 14-year-old boy reported missing since December 2020 in Havana.

A week earlier, the body of Alessandro Rodríguez Aguiar had been found, who had been missing for several days in the city of Santa Clara. The body was found on the premises of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Clara, where the 23-year-old worked.

Cuban Isis Rodríguez Ameneiro has been trying to locate her 16-year-old daughter for almost a year, whose disappearance occurred in Havana in May 2021.
