A Cuban doctor who was pregnant died in the city of Camagüey from hemorrhagic dengue, according to sources close to the victim.
The Facebook user Geisler González González identified the deceased only as Mercita, and dedicated an emotional chronicle to her on her social network profile, where he revealed that the young woman was expecting a baby.
“Today I said goodbye physically but not from the soul and heart to a doctor, a friend, an angel, to the white dove, as many of us affectionately called her. And I personally, my fat one, because inside From her womb grew her most anticipated beautiful gift, her baby, her girl. Mercita, Camagüey is in mourning today, Cuban medicine, your family, your friends and all those who just exchange a word with you or have known of your existence feel your departure, like a world that is coming upon us,” he said.
The tragic death of this pregnant woman and her baby occurs a few hours after the death of a girl from Cienfuegos for the same cause.
The Cuban girl Paola Patricia Rodríguez, seven years old, died this Wednesday in Cienfuegos of hemorrhagic dengue after spending several days in intensive care, several sources close to the family assured.
A sister of the minor is also seriously ill with dengue, Cuban influencer Yessy World said in a video on Facebook.
Reports from previous days showed that there is a significant increase in children admitted with dengue in Guantánamo, where more than 60% of the patients are pediatric patients.
Added to the economic and social crisis that the dictatorship has brought to the island of Cuba is the complex epidemiological situation caused by the transmission of the dengue virus, as recognized by the health authorities themselves.
