The black market of the dollar: Another of the “achievements” of the socialist revolution.

At the beginning, in the first years of distributing scarcity, back in the 60s and 70s of the last century, everything was easier in the art of subsistence for Cubans: “mild cigarettes for strong cigarettes”, “sugar for rice ”, “condensed milk for cigarettes”, “rice for coffee”, “tobacco for white sugar” and so everyone happy, calm and happy, believing that the crisis would soon be over because our “messiah” never tired of saying it, repeat it and promise ourselves that we would live in the best country in the world.

The “revolutionary barter” worked in that socialism because what little there was, according to Castro’s propaganda, was distributed “equally” as regulated products: slowly… from one to the bottom and without fuss that is enough for all… At least that was what we believed at that time.

But the crisis in Cuba became eternal and what should have been for a few years, that is, the collective misery, the poor living of Cubans, the nights without food, the condom pizzas, the Nácar soap and the Batey, the blackouts and the lack of water, became the daily life of the Cuban family.

They were also adding to our consciences in such a way that we Cubans are the only people in the world that filled us with speeches and shit utopian communist ideologies.

Every speech that we had to see forced, for any occasion and even without reason, always brought the same purpose: The Americans are sons of bitches, those of the “socialist camp” are our brothers, the murderous and criminal blockade, the price of oil it’s through the roof, the Miami mafia wants to rule us, the empire’s mercenaries want to invade Cuba and the world is falling apart. While Castro and his dome of impostors asked for more sacrifice, a lot of resignation, a lot of faith in the revolution and in victory; they lived in the best New York style.

All this accumulation of realities were the necessary elements for the origin and development of the Cuban black market, a somewhat “sui generis” market if one takes into account that Cuba is an island with a strict border and customs control and everything is absolutely controlled by the regimen How is it possible that you can find any product outside the “state offer”?

Definitively, all kinds of essential goods for life enter Cuba through any of its ports, although not necessarily all of them for the consumption of the population. It happens that the supposed system of “state control” facilitates the diversion and embezzlement of these products, causing them to dissolve in the dark framework of informalism and generate a parallel “supply” that, like it or not, has saved the lives of the majority. of Cubans for more than half a century.

There was no need but it became indispensable, the Castroists and their demons, with their “inventions of this is the people’s revolution”, generated the longest and most continuous crisis in the history of a country and its inhabitants. The scarcity of anything, from the necessary, the useful, the desired and even the dreamed of have forced Cubans to immerse themselves actively or passively in an informal marketing system with a strange and unequal interrelationship between products-prices-salaries-subsistence -life that almost all of us are outraged, it wears us out but it forces us because otherwise “living” would be an almost impossible act.

In all the countries of the world there is a “parallel” market as another alternative for the material or spiritual satisfaction of people, it is not a secret, but for Cubans, the most honest and the least, the needy and the speculators, those who They can and those who can’t, all of us, absolutely all of us, have seen how the beautiful Homeland has turned into a black and terrible market for “life” due to the persistence of a regime in maintaining a sociopolitical system that does not work and that wear, wear and wear.

The most recent achievement of Cuban communism has been the dollarization of food stores and basic necessities. This has provoked a new branch of the Cuban black market, the parallel exchange houses where 1 dollar today costs 130 Cuban pesos. The dictatorship in its hunger for the American dollar tried to buy those dollars that circulate on the island, but as always they have failed and the black market is once again imposed on the Cuban reality.

The Castro dictatorship without wanting to admit it has institutionalized one of the most terrible inequalities between human beings and life itself, the existence of a black market, super black, for which they are the most responsible. So sad.
