Elon Musk expressed his sympathy for one of the possible Republican candidates for the Presidency in 2024

For all experts in American politics it is a given that Ron DeSantis, current governor of Florida, will seek to be the Republican nominee for the presidency of the United States in 2024. But DeSantis has not announced it yet, in fact when asked he says that It’s not in your plans at the moment.

However, it is known that it is an old strategy among politicians to wait to make the announcement. And DeSantis is doing things by the book, he doesn’t advertise but his state policies are designed to generate national impact. His speech clearly beats Florida. And many are taking notice, including the world’s richest man.

Elon Musk, the great innovator whose personal fortune is estimated at some 205 billion dollars, announced yesterday in a long thread of messages on the social network Twitter (which he is negotiating to buy) that he had voted for Mayra Flores, the Latina candidate for Mexican origin who won a seat in the Federal Congress last night in a special election. Musk’s vote is relevant because his opinion moves the masses and it is the first time that the businessman has voted for a Republican candidate in his life.

Twitter users became very interested in Musk’s political views and began asking him questions, such as who he would vote for president in 2024, to which Musk replied that “that remains to be seen.”

But when another user asked where he was leaning, the South African replied tersely “DeSantis.”

While DeSantis is famous for, among other things, his opposition to big tech companies, he has publicly spoken highly of Musk in recent months. Particularly since there was talk of buying Twitter, and how under Musk’s leadership there could be more freedom of expression on the social network. And I have even said publicly that I would like Musk to move his offices to Florida, despite the fact that he has publicly opposed the arrival of technology companies in the southern peninsula.

“Importing some of these San Francisco tech companies has never been a priority for us. I think what happens is that once they come, they tend to raise the cost of living for everyone, ”DeSantis indicated at a press conference weeks ago. It should be noted that Musk’s offices are no longer in California. After local officials told him explicitly and with an insult that they did not want him there, Musk simply accepted the message received and moved to Austin, Texas.

The possible purchase of Twitter by Musk is a fundamental fact for American politics. Ever since the social network banned former President Donald Trump, the debate has been about whether that’s the role of social media, to cure those who can participate. Musk could change things, but for now the purchase has been put on hold because the billionaire wants to know how many fake users there really are on the network.

DeSantis’ reaction

Asked about it, Desantis says he’s focused on 2022, but always appreciates the support of African-Americans. This is gold.
